Report second Alfa Romeo 147 meeting on October 27, 2002
The second 147 meeting has been a great succes. Unfortunately a couple of guys didn't show due to the stormy weather. We will remember this meeting for a long time because we had the worst storm for the last 12 years. We saw a very wild river, al lot of fallen trees, we had a carwash for free when we crossed the river by ferry and we had a little detour because I forgot to take a chainsaw (a fallen tree blocked the road).

Despite the bad weather we enjoyed the second meeting at the most and it still is a lovely sight to see all those Bella's together. We arrived between 09.30 AM and 10.00 AM at the show Auto Moto Italia in Houten. We visited the show for a couple of hours and enjoyed all those lovely Italian cars. Of course a lot of Alfa Romeo's were at the exhibit. At 12.15 PM we took are cars for a spin to enjoy the countrysite (and the 'nice' weather). It is hard to keep all the cars together but because to the trip on the highway we have succeeded to regroup before we drove onto the dyke. We drove along the twisty dyke all together for nearly 20 kilometers which was a very nice sight. The ferry made us all laugh, because the very wild river washed our cars when we crossed the river.

The crossing of the river wasn't the last obstacle we had to take: during the trip the road was blocked by a fallen tree. After a little detour we could resume the original route. And after finishing the trip we enjoyed our lunch at a nice restaurant. Everyone is already looking forward to the next meeting, which will be held in Belgium.
